Less than 10 minutes drive it has a fantastic celebration of Easter and the festival Christians versus Moors, Then there's the nearby town of Elche with the largest palm tree plantation in Europe now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. If it's nightlife you hanker for there are plenty of discos, bars and cafes in Torrevieja or Guadamar, boredom is out of the question! The gem of Jacarilla though has to be the historic palace and formal gardens of the Marquis de Fontalba - of which this property has the most unique views.
